Bringing an Artist to your Table
I am a Mexican-American woman who grew up beside three generations of dedicated home chefs who specialized in the international cuisine of our family's heritage- Turkish, French, Italian, Mexican and Polish. My undergraduate degree was paid for, in large part, by being the assistant chef Mon-Fri for my small college. There, I majored in Fine Art and Biology. During post graduate anthropological research of the mummies in Guanajuato, Mexico, I invited my grandmother to live with me. Over two years, my abuela and I forged a colorful social life through our dining room and kitchen.
Even through medical school and residency, I could not escape the kitchen... many of my classmates and colleagues offered to wash dishes so that they may be invited to partake of my menus.
As an invited guest lecturer to over 25 countries, I made dining another career: learning about ingredients, customs and recipes, often "smuggling" ingredients and cooking gadgets back home.
Now that I am semi-retired, I am able to enjoy and further develop my other passions: Art and Cooking. Codorniz Culinary Collaborative allows me to do both, bringing the unprecedented agricultural products and talented winemakers of the Central Coast to your table.
Jeannette's privately catered dinner is more than a feast. Elegant, well balanced, carefully assembled and imaginatively prepared, it opens one's horizons on culinary refinements of the highest order. Under Jeanette's skilled hands the delicate balancing of flavors, coupled with fusing of world's cuisines and cooking traditions, becomes a truly memorable experience.
